Brick, Stone & Tile Fireplace TV Mounting
Mounting a TV on a brick, stone, or tile fireplace surround requires specialized tools, hardware, and technique that go beyond a standard drywall installation. Your technician arrives equipped with masonry drill bits, concrete anchors, and the experience to drill cleanly into hard surfaces without cracking or chipping. The result is a rock-solid mount that looks as though it was always part of the design.
Masonry Drilling & Anchoring
Brick, natural stone, and porcelain tile each have different densities and drilling characteristics. We use hammer drills with carbide-tipped masonry bits sized precisely for the anchoring hardware being installed. For brick, we drill into the brick face rather than the mortar joints for maximum holding strength. For natural stone and tile, we select anchor points that avoid thin or fragile areas. Stainless steel concrete anchors are torqued to the manufacturer's specification, creating a connection rated to hold several times the weight of your television.
Protecting Your Fireplace Finish
Cracking, chipping, or discoloring the stone or tile around your fireplace is the last thing you want. Experienced technicians use dust extraction, low-speed drilling techniques, and protective masking to keep the surrounding material pristine. When working with delicate natural stone or decorative tile, we pre-mark every drill point, confirm anchor locations with you before drilling, and use vibration-dampening methods to minimize stress on the surrounding surface.
Cord Concealment on Masonry Surfaces
In-wall cable routing is not possible through solid brick or stone. Instead, we offer several clean alternatives: paintable surface raceways that follow the contour of the stone, cable channels routed behind the mantel shelf, or conduit runs drilled through the masonry at discrete exit points. For fireplaces with a drywall section above the mantel, we can use a standard in-wall power bridge for the upper portion and a raceway for the stone section below. Every approach is customized to your fireplace layout.
Full-Motion & Tilting Options
Masonry walls are ideal for heavy-duty mounts because the anchoring points are extremely strong. We install fixed, tilting, and full-motion mounts on brick and stone surfaces. Tilting mounts are especially popular for above-fireplace installations where the TV sits higher than eye level. Full-motion articulating mounts are also well-suited to masonry because the wall provides a rigid, vibration-free base.
